Practice # 18. E-mail programs.

CONCEPT:

email, or in English e-mail (electronic mail) is a network service that allows users to send and receive messages quickly (also called electronic mails or letters) by electronic communication systems. Primarily uses this name to describe the system that provides this service on the Internet via the SMTP protocol, but by extension can also be applied to similar systems using other technologies. Through e-mail messages can be sent, not only text, but all kinds of digital documents. Efficiency, convenience and low cost (often zero) are making moves to e-mail mail for many common uses.

ORIGIN:

The e-mail began as the possibility that allowed distant colleagues working for a company that had a LAN work together, share experiences and exchange ideas and projects. This implementation already shown in Figure 1, then suggest the possibility of making a user could access the same service that is remotely without being connected to the network actually connected via a telephone line and modem . Next step in the expansion was to connect multiple LANs to exchange messages to users. This implementation includes an additional difficulty each mail server to meet their local users (Connected to your network) and remote (other network) and are entered email addresses and domains.

Writing

message can send messages between PCs or between two ends of a central computer. The messages are stored in a mailbox (a quick way to send messages). When a person decides to write an email, your program (or web mail) will ask at least three things:

Recipient: one or more email addresses to which the message has to reach
Subject: a description shorter than the person who will receive before opening the mail also is often given the option to include files attached to the message. This allows to transfer computer data of any kind via e-mail.

Country CC (Carbon Copy): who are on this list will also receive the message, but will it not addressed to them, but whoever is put in the field. As the CC field they see all those who receive the message, both the primary recipient of the CC field as you can see the entire list.

Country Bcc (blind carbon copy): a variant of the CC, which recipients receive the message does not appear on any list. Therefore, the BCC field never see any recipient.

Shipping
Sending an email is a long and complex process.
If the user wants can store the messages sent, either automatically (with the corresponding option), but only for messages they want. These messages are saved in the Sent folder.

Front
When a person receives an email message can be seen in the inbox a summary of it:

Sender (o o: o From or From:-English-): this box indicates who sent the message. You can see the name of the person or entity that has been sent (or nickname or whatever you want the sender). If whoever sent the message has not set up your email program or web to appear on the email address

Subject: in this field is the subject matter of the message (or what he wants to sender). If whoever sent the message has left this box blank is read [any] or [no subject]

messages have been received but not yet read the abstract tend to show in bold. After reading the letter included with normal. Sometimes if you select these messages without opening them down we can see a preview of its contents.

If the recipient wants to read the message has to open it (usually by (double) click on the content of her affair with the mouse pointer). Then the receiver can see a header above followed by the message body. In the header of the message appear more or all of the boxes above (except the first words of the message body.) Attachments, if any, may appear in the header or message body below.

Once the recipient has received (and usually read) the message can do several things with it. Systems typically email (webmail both programs) offer options such as:

-Reply-Forward (or refer)
-Spam-Archive

-Delete-Move to Folder or Add tags
