THE CARBON IN SPAIN.

This entry is dedicated to coal, a nonrenewable energy source, I will focus the issue in Spain, where this mineral is no longer Future:

- Consumption: Coal consumption (data 2009), was reduced by 13.5% to 18.3 million tons, 0.6% of world consumption, which makes Spain the nineteenth consumer.

- Production : Different coal production areas are distributed in Asturias (hard coal), Castilla y León (hard coal), Andalucia - Castilla la Mancha (hard coal), Aragón - Cataluña ( black lignite) and Galicia (brown coal). It is a historically important industry in certain regions, although that is in recession since the market modernization and energy technologies.

-Future: The future of coal mining in Spain is doomed to extinction due to the rise of renewable energy and ecological awareness in the XXI century is no longer feasible to burn coal for the production of energy.
Despite the "Black March" and a mine closure in Palencia, Brussels decided to withdraw aid for the sector in 2014.
